About

Thank you for visiting my site! I am an evolutionary biologist fascinated by the diversity of life and the processes that shape and maintain it. I love tackling exciting research questions and exploring new tools and technologies as well as model systems that help answer them.

I completed my undergraduate studies at IISER Pune in India before joining Prof. Marko Mutanen’s group at the University of Oulu for my PhD. My doctoral work focused on resolving taxonomic challenges and clarifying species boundaries in closely related butterfly and moth species distributed in parapatry and allopatry, using genomic approaches.

Currently, I am a postdoctoral researcher at the school of Biological Sciences, Georgia Institute of Technology. My work focuses on uncovering genetic mechanisms underlying reproductive isolation in multiple population and species pairs that span different stages of a speciation continuum. More broadly, my research interests are centered around genomic basis of ecological speciation, local adaptation and molecular evolution.

Outside of research, I enjoy reading novels, practicing chess, trying my hands at different forms of art and craft, and seizing every opportunity to travel and hike.
